Postdoctoral Fellow Position
We are seeking a post doc with an interest in Cognitive Science to be part of an NSF funded grant. This work investigates how people may spontaneously engage in performing riskier actions due to differences between virtual environments and the real world, and what conditions might promote mental simulations of actions in virtual environments.
Candidates will have the PhD in psychology, cognitive science, or computer science with focus on human-computer interaction. Candidates with research interests in embodied cognitive science are highly desirable.The starting date for this position is flexible. We are open to someone beginning fall 2009 or early spring 2010. Salary is competitive and negotiable. Other opportunities for concurrent teaching within the Department of Psychology and/or Computer Science may exist. Although a true post doc is preferred, we could consider an ABD candidate.
Texas A & M - Commerce is the second largest University in the A & M system, has branch campuses in and around the Dallas Metroplex, and anticipates substantial student growth. The City of Commerce itself is a lovely small-town situated near popular outdoor recreational areas, and just one hour from Dallas.

Graduate Research Assistant Position in Psychology, Cognitive Science
Cognitive Science Lab is seeking highly motivated and talented students who have strong curiosity about human cognition.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field, and admissible to our graduate program. An undergraduate GPA exceeding 3.2 is required, and GRE scores within past 5 years should be available.
Desirable but not required qualifications:
Salary: $17,000 per year
